About Stephen Wintermute

I am a comprehensive legal advisor with demonstrated experience in the Forestry, Mining and Oil & Gas sectors. I am called to the Bar in both British Columbia (2019) and Alberta (2017) with a passion for the natural resource industries in both Provinces. I have seven years of private-practice experience at leading national and international law firms. My time in private-practice focused on mergers & acquisitions, corporate commercial law and securities compliance. I advised clients on international and domestic mergers and acquisitions and commercial arrangements for leading natural resource projects in both the mining and energy space. I also supported publicly-traded clients with securities law and stock exchange compliance (TSX, TSX-V and CSE), corporate finance and corporate governance advice. During my time at Western, I have leveraged my private practice experience to drive business results. I have supplemented my areas of practice with practical experience in First Nations, Real Estate and Construction/Procurement law. As Director, Legal, I am also responsible for formulating and overseeing the Company's contract management and review processes, privacy compliance and other legal policies.
