40+years experience within the energy industry (mostly power sector) – including project development, due diligence, environmental assessment and consents, energy regulation and strategy, security of supply, SHE (safety, health & environment) and emergency planning. I've visited approx 60 UN countries and have worked on projects in over 40. I've been a guest lecturer on Energy Policy for many years (City University MSc courses). Previously Chair of the IET Midlands Power Group, Chairman of the IET Power Trading and Control Professional Network. member of the IAM (Institute of Asset Management) and on the editorial panel of ICE Energy, Specialties: technical due diligence of power stations and electricity networks, offshore transmission, carbon capture and storage, grid connection applications, grid aspects of electric vehicles, electricity storage, renewables and biomass, environmental consents, energy efficiency, energy markets, asset risk management and safety reviews.
