About Steve Arnold

I have over 30 years of experience in the security field, primarily on public school campuses. I have served as a Campus Safety Supervisor for the Santa Cruz City School District at both Mission Hill Middle and Santa Cruz High Schools. I have coordinated emergency response training for my campuses, emergency drills (fire, hostile intruder, and others as required by law.) I served as the schools safety coordinator at Mission Hill Middle School, where I oversaw safety and security training programs online and in person. I was tasked with identifying necessary safety and security related supplies and then ordering and deploying them as needed. When National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Incident Command Systems (ICS) standards were established, I assisted site administration on creating and implementing a thorough Emergency Action Plan. I helped the counseling department create, then incorporate, a wonderful peer driven Conflict Resolution plan, and helped our counselor oversee it to huge success. I created multiple clubs on campus, focusing on citizenship and school service. I coached 3 separate sports (girls softball and volleyball, and wresling), and was primary security manager during after school events. I retired from the Army National Guard after 21 years after beginning my military career in the United States Marine Corps. In the Marine Corps, I was a classified material custodian, team mail clerk, and publications and directives manager. I was required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance which I successfully achieved. In the CA Army National Guard I retired as an ammunition specialist tasked with overseeing a platoon of Soldiers focused on storing, issuing and returning battalion ammunition assets, receiving multiple command awards for excellence in the process. On deployment to Kosovo I served as the Non Commissioned Officer in charge of the Civil Military Operations section, and was the driver/personal security officer to the Deputy Commanding General of Civil Military Operations. I earned my associates degree in Criminal Justice through Purdue University Global in 2019. I graduated with my bachelors degree in criminal justice from Purdue University Global in January 2021, Magna Cum Laude with a GPA of 3.9
