My name is Steve Banta, and I am a proven CEO with extensive experience in business transformation, strategic planning, M&A, and working with and advising boards. I have a passion for helping both companies and nonprofits set up and implement new tactics and strategies that improve processes, reduce expense and drive top-line revenues. STRATEGIC PLANNING: Managed $7.6M budget with diverse revenue sources including the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas, United Way (top 10 agency), major events, annual fundraising and 50 to 60 federal, state and foundation grants. DONOR DEVELOPMENT: Undertook a major donor campaign to build agency reserves and personally raised in 45 days, including a matching grant. SERVANT LEADERSHIP: Implemented a transitional housing program for victims of crime (primarily domestic abuse) with 21 apartments serving individuals and families with all of the JFS wrap-around services available to help them become independent. Clients have all living expenses paid for 6 to 18 months as they use JFS services. MERGERS & ACQUISITIONS: Merged the independent nonprofit, Plan Living Assistance Network of North Texas (PLAN) into Jewish Family Service (JFS). This merger provides the only accredited “Clubhouse International” program for adults with chronic and persistent mental illness in the DFW area. BUSINESS TRANSFORMATION: Led the Verizon team to pass a new law in Texas for state issued video franchising authority that accelerated deployment of services, resulting in savings of over $10M.
