About Steve Bearman
After various assisting roles I became Rushes Colourist in 2006 at Midnight Transfer and worked with many high profile DOP’s. Grading films like The Bourne Ultimamtum, In Bruges, The Golden Compass, The Duchess and The Dark Knight. In 2007 I was asked to head up the Restoration Grading department. Over the next 8 years I have graded many of the worlds most classic cinema. Some of my highlights are Withnail and I, Kes, Mulholland Drive, The Beatles No. 1’s, and Donnie Darko. I can operate the world’s three most powerful colour grading and finishing systems for Film, TV, and Commercials – Filmlight’s Baselight, DV’s Filmmaster and Davinci’s Resolve. I spend most of my time on Baselight, which allows me to marry speed with creativity to enhance the artistry and narration and see the beauty and importance of each composition. My passionate and collaborative attitude has resulted in great working relationships with clients such as Mike Leigh, Terry Gilliam, Ken Loach and Sir Paul McCartney.
