About Steve Blyth

I am highly focused and motivated Environmental Auditor and Advisor with over 20 years' experience in plant based primary industries, natural resource management policy and biosecurity. As a highly respected horticultural expert within Australia, I am called upon to offer advice to industry on the prevention, preparation and mitigation of Biosecurity risks, development and management of nursery production facilities and ongoing training support. I held the position of Managing Director for Blyth Tree Farm for over 20 years, achieving “Best State Production Nursery Award” in 2014. Possessing strong financial acumen, I have held positions with substantial involvement in budget approval. As Deputy Chair with Southwest Catchments Council (SWCC), I provided strategic and financial oversight for over $45m worth of programs. As a result of my experience, I am a proven and exceptional leader of people having managed teams of up to 15 members in addition to holding a mentor role with Master Tree Growers Group. As a dedicated community member, I have served on a number of boards taking influential roles such as Chairman, Vice Chair and Treasurer and have a strong history of building productive relationships with clients in addition to nurturing an excellent network of supporters within the community.
