About Steve Bostjancic

I currently work as a traveling cyclotron engineer for Pharmalogic Holdings Corp. I maintain the GE PETtrace cyclotrons the company uses to produce positron emitting radioactive materials which are then utilized in the manufacture of PET (Positron Emission Tomography) radiopharmaceuticals. In addition, I maintain the radiochemistry synthesizers such as the GE FASTLab2 and Trasis All-in-One which are used to convert the raw radioactive materials into finished PET radiopharmaceuticals. I also perform maintenance on the telemanipulators used to safely handle the radiopharmaceuticals, the hotcells and minicells used to shield the products and various other equipment used in the PET manufacturing facilities. Before this, I worked for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Radiation Health Physicist. I performed regulatory inspections of industrial and medical x-ray equipment and radioactive materials licensees. I worked with the x-ray registration and radioactive materials licensing section to ensure the accuracy of these documents. I responded to incidents involving improperly disposed radioactive materials found in scrap yards and landfills. I also performed surveys at industrial sites involved in the cleanup of radioactive contamination and participated in nuclear power plant emergency response drills.
