Dr. Steve Broe's Summary Steve Broe has over 25 years of management experience in education, real estate, and private asset management. He served as the senior level manager for a multi-state organization with over 120 employees. He has three times received Toastmasters International Leadership Excellence award, and has volunteered as a leader and mentor for eighteen years. Steve Broe earned his doctorate in leadership from the University of Phoenix with his study of the leadership experiences of military veterans in Arizona schools. How does Steve solve problems? Steve is a creative problem solver. He likes to ask “what’s missing?” He also solves problems by networking – he builds a dialogue with others. Steve gathers data, measures the forces that are known, and anticipates the weak forces on the horizon. When solving people problems, Steve finds that communication and appreciation are excellent places to start. He prefers to face conflict through appreciative inquiry; however problems won’t go away by ignoring them. Steve understands that people must solve their problems, as an organizational leader, he can strongly encourage people to do exactly that! How does Steve communicate? His passion is public speaking; however he is a capable listener too. He maintains a blog, and is preparing his third book. He is very comfortable with writing down my ideas. The spoken word is a powerful means to inspire others and create action. The written word is highly effective at documenting thoughts, measurements, and ideas.
