About Steve Castaneda

I am a seasoned Strategic Development; Technology/Engineering; Product Development Leader; and former Army Communications and Electronics Officer. I have solid in-depth experience in RF Network Design/Planning and Performance Engineering in Critical Wireless Communications (LMR, iDEN, CDMA, and 4G WiMAX/LTE-A, 5G, IoT). I also have experience with Garrison and Tactical Military Communications planning as a Squadron Signal Officer, S6 (Captain). My recent achievements include the successful launch of Las Vegas as the country’s 4th 4G Mobile WiMAX market with an all-Microwave IP Backhaul network (2009); a Pilot and Network Design of a private 4G wireless network for a gas & electric utility company to support a Smart Grid deployment (2012); and deploying a multi-band (800/1900/2500 MHz) LTE-A network for a national Mobile Network Operator (2015). Currently, I'm engaged in making private, secure broadband (LTE) networks a reality for Critical Infrastructure Industries (CII) and Private Enterprises. I have the experience and motivation to offer technical expertise and leadership to innovative mobile broadband devices and wireless companies; utilities; cities; and agencies that are interested in launching a pervasive next-generation broadband technology (LTE-A, 5G, I-IoT), Smart Grid/City, or Critical Infrastructure Communications Network.
