About Steve Dalchow

Industry Experience: 33 years Steve Dalchow is Chief Broking Officer (founding member) responsible for risk transfer activity in Gallagher’s Crisis Management division, joining the firm in October 2015. He is a specialist in developing solutions (both consultative and risk transfer) for clients affected by man made security risk including but not limited to terrorism, political violence, political risk, kidnap, ransom, extortion, evacuation, repatriation, active shooter/assailant, blackmail, assault and battery, product recall and contamination. Steve’s role centres around providing solutions to present to clients, helping them understand and identify risk, enabling them to make informed decisions for issues surrounding people, brand and assets. This includes addressing duty of care/corporate governance requirements whilst operating in a global environment. Steve joined Gallagher following a short stay at JLT having previously spent 23 years at Aon where Steve’s last role was Global Head of Crisis Management with responsibility for the Terrorism, Political Risks, Kidnap & Ransom and Product Recall divisions. Steve is a known thought leader in Crisis Management and has presented at numerous global conferences and seminars. He also sat on the Global Crisis Management exec and the Aon Global Broking Centre exec. During Steve’s career he has spent most of his time on the client facing side of the business. Steve has worked in both the marine and non-marine areas of insurance/reinsurance along with 3 years on claims and within the wordings department. In his early career he also spent time seconded to the US. Steve was voted in the top 5 of London market political violence brokers and no 1 in the over 20 years’ experience category of the insurance insider 2019 power rankings. He was also listed in the top 10 London brokers across both the war and geopolitical risk markets in the 2021 and 2022 Gracechurch market rankings. Outside of work Steve is a keen sportsman with interests in football, rugby, F1, US sports, cricket and golf. A home and away season ticket holder at Tottenham Hotspur and regularly follows the England national team for football, cricket and rugby. Also a keen music follower and regularly attend gigs/concerts for music of all genres.
