Combining my strong passion for sustainability and the circular economy with a compelling track record in new business development, and an extensive and international network, I specialize in assisting organizations in evaluating and developing business and growth strategy, commercializing novel and advanced materials and solutions. My Story: I have over 30 years leadership experience in the materials industry, spanning chemicals, fibers, and plastics, most recently as Vice President – Performance Packaging at leading biopolymers producer NatureWorks. In my 20 years at NatureWorks, my evolving leadership roles were key in: Successfully introducing the first new, world-scale (bio)plastic Moving NatureWorks from an scrappy, aspirational startup to a global leader in the biomaterials space (> 400% topline growth 2007-2022) Solidifying NatureWorks stature as a market maker, gaining for NatureWorks international recognition as a performance proof point in the new biomaterials industry. Broad Industry Experience: Strategy development, 5-Year business planning, go-to-market planning, pull-thru marketing Product and application development, international market launch, channel engagement strategies, and downstream business development in polymers and fibers channels Channels-to-market including rigid and flexible packaging, food service ware, films, fibers, textiles, and nonwovens Effective relationship development with key leadership at brands and retailers. Deal structuring, negotiation, and execution Deep knowledge of and extensive relationships with 3rd party stakeholders that are critical to new product adoption decisionsin the circular economy space (e.g, recyclers, non-profits, NGOs, thought leaders & influencers) International: 25 years experience in leading globally dispersed teams and functions, with extensive international experience in fibers and plastics markets in Asia (including China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Australia), European Union, and exposure to South America Early career Experience: Honeywell, Richmond, Virginia & Raleigh, North Carolina: My 17-years of experience at Allied Signal/Honeywell’s Engineered Materials sector includes leadership roles in Technology and Application development, Polymer Production, and Process Engineering across a diversified set of plastics, fibers, metals, and chemicals business. And on A Personal Note: UK born, I maintain both British and US citizenship, University educated in UK and US systems.
