About Steve Dymond

I am a passionate insurance professional who has worked in the industry for 20 years (!). My insurance background is very diverse – I’ve helped out with internal systems, carried around endorsement slips (too many times…) and broked some serious property accounts in the Lloyd’s Market, along with any other lines of business we needed to put away. I delved into retail broking when I moved to Australia in 2005, with a specific niche in the sports & leisure sector. I definitely learned a lot in this time, and was most certainly out of my comfort zone for a while! It did, however, give me a very good insight into what the end customers in our industry look for when purchasing insurance. In 2010, I moved back into a B2B environment at Insurance Advisernet, and truly back into my comfort zone. I work with around 35 small business owners (our authorised representatives) on any and all of the challenges they face. These could involve technical insurance matters, systems, operations, budgets and cash flows, reporting, business intelligence, marketing, social media, hiring and firing, motivating staff – just to name a few. In 2014 I was given an opportunity within the IA family to take a leap of faith and take responsibility for all the technology and systems at Insurance Advisernet. My inner geek stepped up and I've been working with such a great group of people ever since - we've done some amazing work, with a few ground-breaking tech projects in the last few years. Incredibly rewarding. I love what I do because every day is different and every person I work with is unique in the challenges they face. I love innovating and coming up with solutions to problems, or predicting problems and working on them in advance. I love seeing other people succeed because of the things they did and the plans they made. I’m looking forward to my next 5 years in this industry.
