SPEAKING & PANEL ENGAGEMENTS: Presented a paper titled Preservation of the Owner’s Rights and Remedies against the Construction Surety at the January 2004 annual conference of the Illinois Park and Recreation Association and Illinois Association of Park Districts TOP PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS: In 2010, at the conclusion of a protracted mediation, I negotiated the settlement of a claim against a surety company client for less than seven percent of the claim amount. From 2005 through 2012, I recovered more than in losses for our commercial collection clients. Since the inception of our practice, we have provided hundreds of hours of pro bono legal services to indigent clients. The most satisfying of those hours was the time spent in 2008 and 2009 representing an elderly widow who for many years owned and managed a successful steel supply company after the death of her husband. Following the recession of 2008, this woman lost her company and liquidated all of her business and personal assets to attempt to satisfy her creditors. Unfortunately, she fell short and faced claims, lawsuits and judgments in excess of My partner and I successfully defended those claims and delayed judgment enforcement and foreclosure. Ultimately, she resided in her home (her only asset) until her death in 2010. I relish facing intellectually challenging legal problems that often require me to think “outside of the box” and develop creative solutions. I enjoy working diligently to achieve creative, favorable and cost efficient results for my clients. I thoroughly enjoy meeting new clients and establishing and fostering professional relations that I hope will continue for many years. My primary interest and priority is my family - wife and two children (16 year old high school junior and 20 year old college junior). I also am an avid fitness enthusiast and enjoy reading, movies and travel.
