About Steve Ferguson

I am a Non-Executive Director, Committee Chair, Member and recent Financial Services Partner (EY) with over fifteen years of board level experience across the commercial, government and not for profit sectors with particular experience in the professional services, banking, insurance, funds management, FMCG, retail, construction and infrastructure industries. Board level highlights include: Non-Executive Director of QBE Group and Chair at Bank Australia, Non-Executive Director and Chair of Audit Committee at GenRe Australia, Independent Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee with Parkinson’s Australia and an External Member of the UNSW Sydney Audit and Risk Committees. I a Non-Executive Director of BackTrack Youth Works after being the CFO (part-time) from August 2021 to December 2023, and have been working with BackTrack since August 2020. In an executive capacity I have experience as a Partner at EY - including a key leadership role in the Asia Pacific (APAC) Financial Services business. In this role I led double digit revenue growth and led the Brand, Marketing and communications team as well as the Business Development teams. At EY, as an Assurance Partner, I have led audits of companies including Commonwealth Bank, Telstra, Challenger, Westfield and Worley, PBL, Goodman Fielder, David Jones, Investec and ING Bank and provided assurance services to assurance/advisory services to construction/infrastructure companies including Abigroup, Hills Motorway and Federal Airports Corporation. Earlier I was a member of EY’s Board of Partners and also Chair of the EY Board Audit Committee and was a member of the CEO Performance Review Committee. Finally, I have a Bachelor of Commerce, have completed the AICD’s Company Directors Course and am a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants ANZ.
