About Steve Ferris

I naturally gravitated towards the advertising arts after a childhood filled with attention-getting behavior. I began as a graphic designer because I loved collaborating with clients and presenting solutions to win them attention. Working with so many small businesses meant I often had to wear multiple hats to serve them the best I could, and marketing was the hat with the most wear—so that's how I got here. My path went the way of starting with some basic advertising skills, then diving straight into real-world situations to be self-taught on how to apply marketing principles and practices as new challenges needed to be solved. Diving in over my head almost always results in great personal growth and great results for the people I serve. These two key principles have served me well: 1. Break Rules. What are the rules in a given industry? I believe there are just best practices of the day—until someone defies and redefines those. If you can afford bit of risk, you'll have more fun, increase the odds that you'll win big and make your mark. Win Hearts. Be kind, and raise your voice. It's brought great people and opportunities into my life, and I think this is also at the heart of great marketing. Everybody is waiting for someone else to live a little louder than them so they can step into something new and refreshing.
