Thanks for taking the time to view my LinkedIn profile. IN A NUTSHELL: My entire career has pointed me in the direction of working with those who batter. I learned about therapeutic relationships with reluctant clients while working in a wilderness camp setting with troubled youth. I learned about accountability through my time at Court Services, and I learned how to go with people into their own emotional world in my years as a therapist. Now, in addition to directing an innovative, cutting-edge program for those who batter, I conduct intensive, experiential training's on creating change within a group setting. The "Art of Facilitation" and "The Affective Component in BIP" are game changers for those who facilitate in the world of batterer intervention. I have honed the "River of Cruelty" model of batterers intervention, which also has great application in other human service arenas as well as in the corporate world. The essential premise of this model encourages all of us to examine the impact of cruelty in our own lives, and become responsible for healing that damage, lest we pass that damage on to others. I apply a wide range of skills and approaches to my work, with the main focus being to create a space for increased introspection and personal responsibility among those I serve I love what I do.
