Significant experience in real-life emergencies, planned major events, incidents and delivering effective broad-based exercises and training and a veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces.A distinguished and results-driven professional with over three decades of progressive leadership experience across public safety, security operations, and emergency management providing strategic foresight in both the public and healthcare sectors and a member of the Association of Hospital Emergency Preparedness Professionals.Retiring in December 2020 following a successful 30-year career in law enforcement & emergency management with Metrolinx/GO Transit, transitioned to healthcare security & emergency management with Lakeridge Health providing enterprise-level leadership and strategic oversight of security operations and emergency management principles across multiple hospital sites, clinics, and facilities. Championed comprehensive emergency preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery programs, aligning cross-functional teams and ensuring organizational resilience.As part of the Security divisional leadership team at Metrolinx, led regional operations encompassing community relations, public/media engagement and assisted in organizational incident response development. Served as a sworn Special Constable, attaining the rank of Inspector and fulfilling the critical role of rotating Duty Officer and Incident Commander for planned and unplanned events. Managed a multidisciplinary team responsible for emergency planning, training and exercises, Fire & Life Safety, policy development, logistics, and the operational deployment of a specialized explosive detection K9 unit. Demonstrated exceptional capability in stakeholder engagement, inter-agency collaboration, and community-focused service delivery.Incident Management System / Basic Emergency Management instructor with first-hand oversight and implementation of emergency programs coupled with news media experience. Previously Security cleared as a sworn peace officer (Special Constable) in the Province of Ontario and previously holding secret level clearance with the Federal Government - Transport Canada. Inducted into the Canadian Railway Hall of Fame in 2008 for significant industry contributions and operational excellence. Further, awarded the Governor General Peace Officer Exemplary Service Medal with First Bar.
