In my years of working in IT, I have managed projects coordinating users or other IT personnel, have modified systems based on company and/or department requirements. My projects have involved standardized software systems; and migrated and upgraded third party software. Worked with a variety of systems ranging from handheld terminals to personal computers to midrange and mainframes; running in a variety of business units. Resolutions have involved a variety of requirements driven by budget, automation and cost savings criteria. Have experience using Microsoft Office products for documentation, statistical analysis and presentation efforts to display progress. Met deadlines and reported milestones to upper management. Support Administration including system operations; backup/recovery; systems and application updates, performance tuning; disaster recovery; scheduler setup; systems security; user access and communications issues with iSeries, and Windows NT servers on a 24X7 basis. Participated in assisting clients over the phone with a variety of issues, concerning a wide range of technical considerations. Worked on requests by business units to develop and test new programs and changed old code, using a variety of programming languages including RPG, CL and JAVA. Performed research, planning and execution of new software releases and corrective patches supplied by vendors for operating system and client products. Setup system for tracking application of corrective packages (PTFs) among various business networks; and researched and documented procedures to upgrade operating systems to new releases.
