About Steve Hodges

Interpreting customer requirements and facilitating innovative cost effective solutions. Coming up on 20 years experience in the IP Surveillance industry, 13 of those with German electronics manufacturer Dallmeier. As a child of the early eighties and a member of the "Spectrum Owners Club" I've had an interest in IT before it was known as IT. This led to an early life as a programmer before moving into technical support and training roles as the industry matured. As a natural people person a career in sales beckoned which with my technical background I was well placed to enable migration of predominately analogue systems to digital, this included work with Apple and the pre press / design industry through to later working on multi location sales order processing and accounting systems. Following a spell running my own business "Hands on Marketing" I was employed by one of my customers to help them launch a new software solution for the burgeoning IP/CCTV market. I was back in the world of analogue and IT convergence! As important, I had also entered a world focused on making people safer and more secure and I've a lot of pride in the projects I've been involved in, seeing tangible results and knowing they make a real difference to peoples lives. I am actively involved in a number of security industry associations and am always happy to help with any advice technical or otherwise if asked. I am also excited to be within an industry that is so closely linked to new technology and is evolving into a new era of convergence - that of video and data. I'm a hands on guy and enjoy the field work including surveys as well as the back office technical design and customer presentation element.
