About Steve Jacobs

I am currently the Technical Director on Eglinton Crosstown LRT (ECLRT) in Toronto, which is a 19km long new LRT P3 project. The project includes twin tunnels 9 km long, 15 underground stations, 10 at-grade stops and 54 systems/subsystems. The project interchanges with existing TTC subway lines, and GO Transit rail lines. I am responsible for all technical aspects on the project and am currently involved in resolving all remaining technical issues, NCRs and deficiencies, RFIs, construction certification and all project closeout activities. I also manage the design team. Externally, I lead client-facing meetings and internally I interface with the Systems Teams, Quality Control, Close Out Team, Testing and Commissioning, City of Toronto Buildings, GO Transit, TTC, Construction and Maintenance. Prior to Eglinton I completed the final phases prior to Revenue Service for the Edmonton Valley Line LRT, where I led various initiatives to meet the strict architectural standards for the project, as well as technical lead on civil and drainage requirements, validation and verification, safety, and quality control and overall project management. Prior to entering the construction industry, I have significant Senior Management and Senior Business Development experience, with leadership roles in URS Canada, and with AECOM Canada, where I had over 900 professional staff. I have held P&L responsibilities, and met or exceeded plan each year. I won significant new business and opened several new departments and divisions, to serve new clients, providing new services as well as new office locations to serve new geographies. I was involved in M&A and was a leader in very significant growth in both top line and bottom line revenues. I have authored and executed very aggressive business plans. I hold Professional Engineering licenses in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia. I have a been involved with a wide range of civil projects with extensive experience in Transportation Planning, and Design, as an engineering consultant and Construction Management as a large heavy civil contractor.
