About Steve Kwon

I'm Kwon Doeon, Business Development and Operations at Disquiet, which creates social networks for IT service makers. I went to the Sydney University of Technology to study abroad and returned to Korea to join the army. Suddenly, I thought,"Can I do better in community and education than college?" So I decided to prove myself about the community and education. First of all, we've achieved two things about the community. I started a coding study group, Journey 2 Know the Beautiful Coding (J2KB) and ran over 30 people and organizations as representatives for about a year and a half. Hundreds of members went through J2KB, and I learned what kind of synergy can fly by connecting people. In addition, I worked as a member of the JunctionX Seoul 2021 and Junction Asia 2022 Hackathon management team in an organization called SHIFT with the mission of "Spreading Entrepreneurship Network". I realized through both activities that I could create a better community than university. If you have any concerns about the community and team building, I would like to share my experiences with you. Secondly, it is about education. I studied IT because I wanted to, but there were cases where all the subjects and options offered by the school were not 100% what I wanted. I do not waste time and money to learn what I didn't want to do. So as soon as I came back to Korea, I drew a road map to study what I wanted to do. In 2020, I created data analysis and programming. In 2021, I made a PM/PO roadmap, and organized materials that would help me study step by step. All the knowledge I learned is helpful in my current job. I want to share my ideas about how to approach when I meet a big challenge in life when I have to draw a road map of life. I dropped out of an overseas university and chose a completely new path, and my current life is much more satisfying. Every day, I decide what I want to learn and what I need to learn now. I hope to have a good conversation with people who want to take the initiative in choosing their lives.
