Background

About Steve Lipsher

A wide range of interests, experiences and passions have made me a good cocktail-party conversationalist but also have helped hone my talents in writing, public insights, research, politics and public relations. From summers in my teens spent as a dude-ranch horse wrangler to years on the front lines of news reporting - covering everything from war and international affairs to local, state and national politics, long-form regional feature stories and environmental issues - I have a comfort and facility with fast-changing circumstances. Serving in public information and public education currently, I have developed my teaching style and encouraged behavioral change and personal growth among students, supervised employees and the public. Global travels have taken me to the summits of some of the world's highest mountains and the depths of the oceans, helped me appreciate other cultures and geography and literally broadened my horizons. My technical skills include: writing for publication, speeches, policy documents, prepared statements; website design and maintenance; public-policy research and analysis; media and public relations; and complex media-project oversight.
