About Steve Long

Mr. Steve Long is an Engineering Manager with 36 years of diverse engineering and management experience in the Petrochemical and refining industries. His expertise has been primarily in the development, growth, leadership and management of design personnel. He has extensive experience working onsite as a maintenance engineer, project engineer/manager, and in multiple client sites dealing with rotating equipment, pressure vessels and conveyor systems. Mr. Long’s career has progressed from Discipline Engineer to Site Manager where his proactive form of leadership was utilized to grow and develop a successful partnership between GDS Engineers (onsite and offsite work) and Lyondell-Citgo. After the successful growth of this partnership, his career moved to the SNC-Lavalin, Inc. Baytown office as Manager of Mechanical / Civil Engineers and Design Drafting departments. This is a position he has held through 2007 when he divided the Mechanical and Civil Departments for greater growth potential. Mr. Long is currently Manager of the Mechanical Engineering Department and is the Overall Work Share Manager responsible for developing and implementing the multi disciplinary effort for the Baytown Office.
