Sometimes I feel as though the default in communications is miscommunication, no matter how we might work hard at clarity, it does not always work out. Not always of course. The latest chapter for me is about working in better conversations, helping me, you, others to understand not only what others mean but what we mean ourselves, what we really think. And when that happens, great stuff can follow. This is my work with @JudyRees in Understanders and with the Better Conversation Foundation. And with ImpactBasis, we continue to develop and enhance existing chapters. What would it be like if your online meetings, events and training were better than 'in the room'? ENGAGING ONLINE EVENTS, TRAINING AND COMMUNICATION WHO I HELP.those who want to thrive in the new world of distributed and hybrid working. Either: 1) You are already great 'in the room' and you want to convert that to online excellence; or 2) You know you need great online/distributed events and team working, including 'hybrid' but you don't know how. WHAT VALUE: I help people and organisations to reap the benefit of online work and events, the ecological and cost advantages, the possibility for greater reach to clients and team members, and the benefit of greater inclusivity and diversity. Our promise is that we can make your events, trainings and meetings better than in the room for more people more of the time. THE PROBLEMS I SOLVE: I see three key challenges to the online/distributed/hybrid work experience: 1. Old ways of working transferred to the hybrid and distributed model without adaptation or understanding 2. Valuing technology over human to human engagement 3. Not knowing what you don't know in the new order, and then not asking the right questions to see ahead and avoid avoidable pain HOW: To take advantage of the opportunities whilst mitigating against the challenges of online, distributed and hybrid work, meetings, events and professional/commercial relationships by: 1. Working with us to design your event 2. Taking training coaching and mentoring in online and hybrid leadership, management, and support work 3. Consulting support in project work WHY: Making the most of the opportunities in an online, distributed and hybrid world is not always easy, it is not intuitive and it has downsides.
