About Steve Miles

I’m an experienced automotive leader with over 25 years of progressive responsibility in driving complex program execution, global product development, and change management most recently with Rivian Automotive. From launching electric vehicle systems to leading cross-functional teams through dynamic change, my work consistently bridges engineering precision with business results. My career began in engineering at General Motors, where I developed a foundation in technical excellence and systems thinking. That foundation evolved through leadership roles at Continental, Nexteer, Hitachi, and Mando America, where I led key programs for both traditional and electric powertrain systems. I’ve had the privilege to launch advanced technologies, manage global customer accounts, and oversee cross-functional execution across vehicle platforms and regions. At Rivian, I led major initiatives in both program and change management roles playing a key role in the launch of the Electric Delivery Van and the R1 platform. Whether coordinating 25+ engineers through prototype development, managing BOM accuracy in SAP, or resolving supplier roadblocks in Jira/Confluence, I bring clarity and structure to complexity. One of my proudest achievements was avoiding over in material waste by leading a high-impact rework initiative that turned risk into production-ready inventory. It’s this blend of hands-on execution, strategic thinking, and cross-functional alignment that I bring to every role.
