About Steve Moore

As a Meat Scientist/Food Scientist with experience in both finished food products and food ingredients I have diverse research and development expertise. My work ethic, formed while growing up on an Illinois livestock and grain farm, is one of intense drive to do the best work possible. As the principal meat scientist for a major global ingredient manufacturer I have experiences in hundreds of food/meat plants around the world, leading me to a firm belief that with proper research and disciplined execution, anything is possible and there are a variety of ways to approach any assignment. Successful product development, product improvement, cost improvement, and process enhancement are the results of curiosity, research, and a drive for continuous improvement of ingredients, products, processes, and packaging. Innovation cannot be taught or forced—it springs from that curiosity that is best characterized by “How might we….” make a product perform better, make the shelf-life longer, make the label cleaner, create a “wow” effect? Keeping up with new technologies and ingredients and always asking “what’s next” is a part of my continuing education to stay current and on the front end of trends.
