Background
About Steve Padgett
A native of Rutherford County, North Carolina, I grew up in the small town of Bostic. In 1962, when I was 19 years old, I began my career with computers. After working 45 years in Information Technology and management, I retired from Bridgestone Firestone in 2007. Shortly thereafter, I became part of the adjunct faculty at Cleveland Community College teaching business management and entrepreneurship. Currently I am serving as Director of the Small Business Center. I am past president of the Kings Mountain Rotary Club, past Chairman of the Boards of Directors of the Cleveland County Chamber and Hospice Cleveland County, member of the Boards of Directors of the Earl Scruggs Center, Cleveland County Business Development Center, and Cleveland Community College Foundation. I earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Gardner-Webb College and an MBA from the University of South Carolina. My wife, Micki,(I married up!) and I have 2 sons and 3 grandchildren. We live in Shelby, North Carolina.
