About Steve Pasmeny

As a project manager with over 25 years of experience I have a broad base of experience with successful development and execution of green and brown field projects in the power, oil sands and oil and gas industries in Western Canada. I have spent 10 years with owner/operators and 16 years within the EPC business and have been responsible for stewardship of projects in both environments. THE FUNDAMENTALS: I am experienced in all project phases through to commissioning and handover and have worked in EP, EPC, EPCM environments with reimbursable, unit rate and lump sum contracting strategies and been responsible for stewardship of project scopes from $20M to $2B in size with staff levels up to 360 people. I have formulated and implemented project execution procedures including a project execution manual, and supported corporate development of capital process and project gated process documentation, contracting and procurement procedures. WHAT I BRING TO THE TABLE: A commitment to fostering a safe and respectful workplace. I am passionate about efficient and repeatable project execution to support stakeholder needs using a combination of execution strategy development, established project fundamentals, creative problem solving and the determination to be successful. My strength lie in taking situations, ideal or difficult, accurately assessing the reality circumstances, focusing team efforts and utilizing appropriate project fundamentals to create successful projects. MOST SATISFYING WORK ASSIGNMENT TO DATE: Resuscitation of a distressed project and completing it on budget, including successfully negotiating solutions to contract disputes with the construction contractor and major equipment supplier without the need for mediation.
