Joined SME in 2006 and proudly serve as Chief Operating Officer overseeing SME MEdia and Events Divisions. Also responsible for SME’s business development initiatives, Canadian Operations and SME Studios. Focused on driving greater efficiency and ensuring stronger strategic execution across the organization. Responsible for several key strategic initiatives, including the creation and launch of imX — Interactive Manufacturing Experience and the launch of the Manufacturing Technology Series in partnership with AMT. Before joining SME, served as President of Reed Exhibitions Canada, a leading producer of trade shows and events serving a variety of markets coast to coast. Under my leadership Reed Exhibitions continued to build on its role as the leader in exposition management and continued to partner with leading industry associations to produce premier events across multiple industries. Strong background in transformational leadership, business development and innovation spanning over 30 years with experience that extends back to Key3Media and its early days as Ziff Davis and the Interface Group where I served in a variety of positions, including Director of Strategic Alliances, General Manager of Canadian events and ultimately Vice President of the International division. Instrumental in expanding the company’s product portfolio and creating a solid structure in International markets. Spent eight years with ITCS, a subsidiary of Maclean Hunter. Board member of the Additive Manufacturing Coalition, active member of the International Association of Expositions and Events (IAEE) and served as Chair on their Executive Task Force. Member of the Canadian Association of Exposition Managers and received CAEM’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018. One of the industry’s more outspoken advocates on many important issues including Innovation, structured leadership and workforce challenges.
