About Steve Ross

Hi! I'm Steve Ross. I'm a seasoned professional with a comprehensive background in quality management and operations, residing in Stamping Ground, KY. My educational journey began at the University of Oregon where I earned a BA in Political Science and Economics in 1970. Further enriching my expertise, I also served as a Graduate Research Assistant in Regional Economics at the same esteemed institution. Venturing into the world of quality standards and management, I garnered key certifications vital for my career trajectory. In 2004, I successfully completed ISO/TS16949 Implementation training with LRQA. Fast forward to 2016, and I achieved ISO9001:2015 Auditor Transition Certification from AQS/ Exemplar Global. 2017 saw me becoming an IATF16949 Lead Auditor through training at Preeminent, and most recently, in 2021, I polished my skills with a certification in Effective Remote Auditing from Quality Partner. Over the past two decades, I've been deeply embedded in various pivotal roles at Toyota Tsusho America, Inc. Starting in July I worked as a Project Support for Transition System 36 to JDE World. Progressing through the ranks, I've led transitions from to TS16949 in 2006, and TS16949 to IATF16949 in 2016, showcasing my adaptability and leadership in ensuring quality compliance and management. My most recent role has been as Senior Specialist in Quality Management System, where I not only led internal but also 2nd party audits with precision and integrity until July 2024. Parallel to my corporate engagements, I've been actively involved in community and volunteer work. Serving as the President, Treasurer, and Show Coordinator for the Kentucky Alpaca Association since January 2007, I've demonstrated my commitment to community service and leadership. Additionally, I contribute as the Newsletter and Internet Liaison for the local chapter of the American Society for Quality since February 2021. With a rich tapestry of experiences ranging from quality management to volunteer leadership, and armed with a suite of certifications, I bring to the table a blend of technical acumen, leadership, and a deep commitment to quality and community service.
