About Steve Sampson

I had the privilege of working alongside my dad Peter for over 40 years in his various businesses from coaches, to buses, travel agents, MOT testing and of course Paradise Wildlife Park and The Big Cat Sanctuary. I have retired from the family business and live full time in Spain with my lovely wife Angela and our two dogs and two cats…but other guests are occasionally welcome! I now work with my good friend Martin Alden at M7 Connects, with an incredible group of talented, uber connected and successful entrepreneurs. We apply these skills and connections to assist businesses who wish to grow, or initiate new income streams. I also have the absolute pleasure of supporting Glenn Shoosmith and Charlie Cox as they roll out Prove Anything, the proof protocol for Web3, using blockchain. It is well beyond me but hopefully I nod my head in the right places and occasionally have a good ‘oh dear’! My proudest achievement was pioneering Project Life Lion in east Africa in 1996 with Professor Sarah Cleaveland and Professor Craig Packer. Canine Distemper Virus had wiped out over 1/3 of the Serengeti Lions, plus thousands of other carnivorous species. We set up a programme to vaccinate domestic dogs, which were the hosts, around the borders of the national park in Tanzania and Kenya. It was an unparalleled success and the wild animal populations are now back to pre-epidemic levels. Due to Sarah’s excellent advice, we also vaccinated the dogs for rabies, which resulted in a drop in the incidence of rabies in children by over 90%.
