About Steve Sanderson

Stephen has over 20 years experience as a Project Manager with a track record of successful delivery on a variety of capital and operational projects within the water industry, achieved by utilising excellent project, team and client management skills. Working closely with clients has been fundamental in understanding stakeholders, defining project expectations and developing alignment to contribute to successful delivery. Success in these roles has been underpinned by engineering background and supported by the effective application of HSE, project and risk management practices. Experience in the UK and Australia has contributed to diverse skills and combining these with a proactive approach have been essential in achieving overall commercial and delivery performance, as well as successful business development. Stephen's current role is with Seqwater as project manager for the $18 million Sideling Creek Dam Upgrade including project scoping, preparing tender documents, contract management and Superintendent Representative for the construction works associated with the extreme risk dam. Work has included construction of a rock berm at the toe of the dam, installation of filter, widening and raising of the spillway buttress walls, and construction of plunge pool downstream of the dam. Stephen was also the Project Manager for the Seqwater Somerset Hydroelectric plant refurbishment including feasibility study, business case development, Energex connection agreement negotiations, insurance claim negotiations, project scoping, preparing tender documents, contract management and Superintendent Representative for the construction works. This experience includes presentations to Seqwater Board, management of foreign exchange risk through hedging and advanced payment bonds.
