Background
About Steve Shih
I am a Software Engineer with over 3 years of experience in building and maintaining Java-based microservices and REST APIs. My approach to development is centered on reliability and engineering excellence—ensuring that the code I deliver is not only functional but scalable and easy for the team to maintain. One of my most rewarding experiences involved collaborating with a Principal Engineer to standardise MyBatis infrastructure across 30+ repositories for AU and UK products. This project was a great lesson in resolving technical debt and the importance of logic consistency in global software systems.I am also a strong advocate for modern development efficiency. I enjoy creating 'baseline' unit testing templates that support both my colleagues and AI tools in maintaining high code quality. I take pride in being a dependable team member, reflected in my track record of meeting sprint commitments for consecutive months.
