About Steve Smithson

Professional experience most recently includes product development of DNA sequencers and Laser driven instruments used for medical applications. Previously to that I have gained extensive experience in electro-mechanical packaging that spans more than 15 years. I have designed many products and managed several programs. Sr. Mechanical engineer with experience using SolidWorks and Pro-ENGINEER CAD tools. Extensive experience designing injection molded and structural foam plastics, hard tooled sheet metal parts, die castings and much more. I have worked with Laser delivery systems, vacuum systems and fluidics. I have an understanding of the design method and development processes. I am a self-starter, detail oriented, motivated, goal oriented and have been very successful at meeting product requirements and program schedules. I am quick learning and can adapt to new situations easily.
