About Steve Summers

Since 1996 I have worked exclusively within the field of risk management and the insurance industry, specializing in workers’ compensation. I have extensive experience managing or supervising multi-jurisdictional claims coast to coast, both in the insured and self-insured environments. My experience extends to nation-wide carriers, third party administrators and self-administered employers. As Field Service Manager for Missouri Employers Mutual, I work directly with our Policyholders to maximize their overall claim outcomes through the use of industry accepted workers’ compensation Best Practices, effective incident/injury management and claim/reserve auditing. And while I‘m favorably impacting Policyholders by way of better controlled workers’ compensation costs, their injured employees benefit from improved and timely medical treatment, increased return-to-work rates and retained employment. I also serve as the direct liaison between the MEM Claims Department and our Agency Partners, striving for mutual new business growth and existing retention. The foundation of the insurance industry and continued growth is trusted business relationships. Because of this, I am open to and invite all networking invitations from others.
