I started my career in 1978 working in St Paul, MN as a Branch Manager for Shumacher Mortgage a Division of Lumberman’s Investment Corporation based at that time in East Texas. Due to a growing market I joined Great American Funding out of Chicago,Illinois. The company was owned by Gene Ross, Joe Bolocott and Ray Bernatt. I was a Vice President and Branch Manager located at 2499 North Rice Street St Paul,Mn, which I opened. I only had FHA/VA products and did not originate a refinance for almost 3 years. Due to severe market conditions our company was purchased by the Lomas and Nettelton Company out of Dallas,Texas. Both Great American and Lomas and Nettleton were committed to spending lots of time and money on team building and social functions. Really could use more of that today.
