About Steve Thompson

In the Education sector, I have worked in hundreds of schools across the north of England in my time with a MSP and currently as the Director of ICT for a Multi Academy Trust based in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.Starting my technical career supporting and upgrading Windows NT4 networks, I have directed, project managed and administered projects with every OS version since across both simple and complex technical environments.In my current role, I have planned, project managed and overseen the consolidation of many academy systems into a centralised single structure, creating efficiencies while improving the future of digital learning for children inside and outside of the classroom. The introduction of key digital technologies throughout a volatile period has transformed the way we work as a Trust.More recently, an opportunity to support the Trust's data strategy alongside my current role has given our Trust continuity and central support improving the visibility of KPIs and creating automations to reduce workload. My future plans involve providing consultancy and support SLAs to our local schools, moving more systems to the cloud and to continually improve our quality of service and support.
