Entertainment executives talk about their passion for television, but I lived it. On Saturday mornings, I would drag a mattress into the living room to watch my favorite cartoons, including SUPER FRIENDS, DUNGEONS & DRAGONS, and X-MEN. I loved television enough to constantly sneak it past my parents. After school, I would lose myself in game and talk shows, anxiously awaiting primetime comedy and drama hits like BEVERLY HILLS 90210, FRIENDS, and THE SIMPSONS. So when I started at Fox—working on the very shows I had been watching, I felt like I had realized my dreams. “Steve is one of the sharpest execs we’ve worked with. This has fueled my passion to find relevant and authentic voices that deserve to be amplified and celebrated. Throughout my career, I have delivered +1,200 episodes for scripted and unscripted series. I push each one to meet the highest possible standards. I have also reviewed scripts and have been involved in thousands of hours of development, pitch, and series collaborations. As the head of LA Script Consulting, I provide story outline and script analysis services for writers, producers, and talent. I am also a creative production lead for clients. Previously, as the Vice President and Executive in Charge of Production for Nickelodeon’s live-action scripted and unscripted programming, I was a member of the team that returned this perennial ratings leader to year-over-year ratings growth (13 consecutive months). The trajectory of my career began at Fox where I gained incredible experience in a programming ecosystem that yielded award-winning hits like THE SIMPSONS—America’s longest-running American sitcom and scripted primetime series— as well as MARRIED WITH CHILDREN, THE X FILES, BEVERLY HILLS 90210, ALLY MCBEAL, MADTV, and THAT ‘70s SHOW. Advancing from a Manager to the Vice President of Comedy Development for UPN, then The CW, I discovered talent, writers, and content concepts that were shaped into series for African-American audiences. Our series highlights included EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS (Golden Globe and Primetime Emmy nominations), GIRLFRIENDS (Primetime Emmy nomination), and THE GAME (ran for 9 seasons).
