About Steve Wagner

Steve Wagner has been in the telecommunications industry for over 34 years, serving in a variety of senior executive level positions with start-up and large Fortune 100 companies. He also has significant experience in all areas of sales/marketing management, strategic planning, business development, mergers and acquisitions. Since retiring from Cisco Systems in July 2011, Mr. Wagner continues to provide business development consulting services to companies within the logistics and telecom supply industries. While at Cisco, Mr. Wagner served as RVP-Advanced Technology and Video Solutions managing a team that supported AT & T. Before joining Cisco Systems in 2005, he served as Executive Vice President-Network Services for Grande Communications. Prior to his position at Grande, Steve served as President and CEO of ATSI Communications, Inc. a NYSE listed international carrier that served markets in Latin America and the United States. Before his tenure at ATSI, Wagner was president of Qwest Communications International’s Southern Region where he was responsible for the design, staffing, construction and operation of the competitive access business segment. He also served as Qwest’s vice president of wholesale markets. Additionally, he held executive management positions for companies with the telecom industry including USLD Communications and Alcatel. Steve balances his career with multiple civic and professional responsibilities. He served on the boards of directors of COMPTEL and American’s Carrier Telecommunication Association (ACTA), and as the regional advisory chairman for ASCENT. He has served as the chairman of the board of directors of Golf San Antonio. He presently serves on the board of directors of the Alamobowl, The First Tee of San Antonio, and the Baylor Scott & White Hospital Foundation board in Marble Falls. Mr. Wagner earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from The Ohio State University.
