About Steve Winterling
Coached baseball at Florida State University from August 1985-March 1991 under Mike Martin before starting intercollegiate baseball program at Pasco-Hernando State College in Fall 1991. I was part of three College World Series ('86,'87 and '89) at FSU. Was named Athletic Director at PHSC in 2013 while still serving as head baseball coached. The 2014 team finished 4th at the NJCAA DII World Series in Enid, OK. Retired from coaching after 27 years (2018) to become full-time AD. Currently serving as NJCAA Region 8 Cross Country Chair. Selected NJCAA DII Softball Chair for 2022-23 and 2023-24. Served on the NJCAA DII Volleyball Committee (22-23) and NJCAA Cross Country Committee in 23-24. Was selected to the FCSAA Hall of Fame in 2021 and PHSC Baseball Walk of Fame in 2022. Received the NJCAA Loyalty Award at the NJCAA Convention in April 2023. A member of the American Baseball Coaches Association since 1979. I enjoy running and have completed 7 marathons and 48 half marathons in addition to numerous 5K, 10K and 15K races.
