About Steven Armstrong
As a Marine Scientist at AkzoNobel, I apply my PhD in Physics and my experimental analysis skills to develop and test innovative solutions for marine coatings and fouling prevention. I have over six years of experience in interfacial science and engineering, working on projects that involve image analysis, complex data handling, and scientific publication.I also have a background in building services engineering and project management. I use my programming skills to create bespoke experiments using microcontrollers and rapid prototyping, as well as to automate data processing and visualization. I am passionate about exploring the physics of wetting phenomena, such as sessile droplet evaporation and electrowetting, and creating slippery surfaces that can control the behavior of liquids.
