About Steven C. Thornton

For more than thirty years, our partnership has been intensely focused on creating successful retirements through the design and management of workplace retirement plans and the construction of personal investment portfolios for individuals and families. In 2011, we formed Smith Thornton Advisors to continue that legacy and in 2021, we reorganized our firm as an SEC Registered Investment Adviser (RIA.) Away from the office, I strive to give constantly to the community that has been so good to my family. I currently serve on the Board of Control of the Von Braun Center and on the Huntsville Sports Commission. I am a graduate of Leadership Huntsville/Madison County (Class 13, Previously, I served as Board President of Habitat for Humanity of Madison County, as a Board Member for United Way of Madison County, on the Huntsville Hospital Foundation’s Development Council and its Professional Advisory Council. My greatest pleasure has been supporting and mentoring our next generation through numerous roles in youth sports leagues and organizations.
