About Steven Cheung

With over 14 years of experience in the railway industry, I am a passionate and dedicated manager of operations planning at MTR Corporation Limited, the leading public transport operator in Hong Kong. I am a Chartered Member (CMILT) of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in Hong Kong (CILTHK), which demonstrates my professional competence and commitment to excellence. I am also a participant of the Management Potential Development Programme (MPDP) and Talent Farming Initiative (TFI) in my Corporation, which prepare me for future leadership roles and challenges. My mission is to contribute to the sustainable development and connectivity of Hong Kong through planning and delivering safe, reliable, and efficient railway services. Currently, I am responsible for the operations planning of Lantau railway projects, which include the Tung Chung Extension, the Siu Ho Wan Depot Redevelopment and Oyster Bay Station, the Airport Railway Extended Overrun Tunnel, and the LAR Signalling Works. These projects are vital for enhancing the network capacity, resilience and accessibility of the MTR system, as well as supporting the economic and social development of Lantau Island. I coordinate and collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders, such as the operations, engineering, commercial, and property teams, the government, the contractors, and the consultants, to ensure the smooth and timely delivery of the projects. I also apply my skills in bid support, heavy rail, and high speed rail to provide technical and operational input and advice for the projects.
