About Steven Crouse

A pleasure to meet you! My name is Steven, and I have been working in Production Support and Software Development for Infosys since February 2021. Before then, I studied Full Stack Web Development at Flatiron School and graduated in October 2020. It has been my pleasure to create helpful software and web applications, both at work and at home. Before going into software development, I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Mathematics in 2015. It was there that I first became interested in computer programming; I took a few courses that gave me a basic understanding of C, Java, and Python. A few years after graduating, I realized that software development was a better fit for me, so I took an online course at Flatiron. Through their in-depth Web Development program, I learned Ruby and JavaScript, along with frameworks like Sinatra, Rails, React, and Redux. From a very young age, I have been fascinated with how things work and how to build them. Computer programs are no exception - I absolutely love the logic that goes into creating them and making them work properly! And it's awesome that I can apply my programming skills to practically any field out there - whether it be mathematics, engineering, the environment, or even music, just to name a few! Because of my experiences as a web development and mechanical engineering student - and as a contract worker, pizza delivery driver, and museum volunteer - I know how to work well with others. I love to meet with new people, especially when I can collaborate with them to solve code challenges or debug each other's code! I hope to put all of these skills and experiences to great use in my career, and to never stop learning new things!
