About Steven Findlay

I have been working closely within the Banking and Financial Services businesses for over 25 years to implement core system changes, improve processes, manage risk and align the continually changing technological environment to the business' strategic objectives. This experience has been through hands-on thought leadership, design and the actual delivery of functionality and process improvement across all aspects of the Financial Services business and has included the integration of processes, systems and even organisations. My roles in integrating take-over targets – ABN Amro Futures in to UBS & Bank of Scotland/Lloyds into Westpac has provided significant interaction with all levels of management, requiring approval from across the business and the rationalisation of business processes to ‘best-of-breed’. In my all roles I’ve been responsible for technological thought leadership and delivered significant business benefit through considered process re-engineering and the automation of appropriate procedures to ensure effective use of technology. Acting effectively as an In-house consultant, I’ve been using my business experience and facilitation skills between Business and IT to successfully manage significant integration projects, their budgets, as well as internal software development for deployment globally. I’ve been responsible for the management and guidance of software development teams and have an intimate understanding of all aspects of IT infrastructure. I have successfully managed projects, dealing with the unique challenges of diverse Asian cultures and across a range of functional boundaries, working closely with all roles from Legal, Audit, Risk and Compliance, to Trading and Operations. My formal MBA is augmented by being a Certified Practicing Accountant, a member of the Australian Institute of Project Management and a Certified Scrum Master.
