About Steven Foster

I'm all about people. The value and dignity of all regardless of our make-up or background. I am passionate about expressing that.It shows up best in community and with practical hospitality and I seek to be a part of or support all that enables people to feel embraced in our world. My faith is at my core and my motivation, example and direction centres on Jesus Christ - expressed with a wide embrace for the hard challenges faced by many in today's Ireland, but with a worldwide scope.I am best working with people and at something reasonably practical.Spring 2022. I have felt that it is time to leave the ministry of a local traditional Methodist Circuit. Much of my decision relates to the limited engagement that most people in Ireland today have with the traditional church. I don't have a very separated or prideful view of being a minister - I am content working in a variety of jobs.I believe I have a lot to offer that is very unique. I am actively seeking employment in a context that is reasonably practical and yet I come with much experience in human relationships. I look forward to working alongside others in practical tasks, but also being a helpful support to others in any team and in good relations.EMPLOYMENT OVERVIEWSeptember 1992 - May Sales employment in my home county, Fermanagh.August - June 2004, Experience and Training for Ordained MinistryJuly 2004 - present, ORDAINED MINISTER, METHODIST CHURCH IN IRELANDSELECTED ROLES1993-2001, Local Preacher, Methodist Church in founding leader, Knockninny Junior & Youth CE groups, Fermanagh1997-2004, National Youth Convenor, Irish Christian Endeavour (Youth Discipleship)2003-2005, founding committee member, Embrace NI (Migrant rights)2005-2007, Chaplain, Youth Justice Agency, Bangor, Co.
