About Steven Hedges

Steven (BSc (Hons) founded the business over 20 years ago, he holds a variety of specialist crafts, thus bringing a wealth of experience within the industry. He left school in 1984 and immediately took an apprenticeship with a local plastering company, where he received thorough training in all aspects of the plastering trade, during this time he was introduced to the decorative side of the craft, to which he found a passion for and decided to put himself through college in Sheffield to hone his skills. In 1994, Steven started his own business which has progressively grown and has seen skills diversify to design and modelling of bespoke pieces for many clients. He has built a good working relationship with many local construction companies. Not stopping there, Steven has recently embarked upon obtaining a degree in Historic Building Conservation and completing a Postgraduate degree. During his time studying at the Buildings Crafts College, he was granted a Stukey award in recognition of his skills and potential by the Court of the Worshipful Company of Carpenters. He is also regularly called upon to provide Lime Days at the Buildings Crafts College which incorporates demonstrating in both the technical and practical aspects of lime plastering to first year Historical Building Conservation students and those gaining their NVQ’s.
