About Steven Heubi

I am a highly qualified and experienced teacher with a strong background in special education and a passion for helping students succeed. I hold a Bachelor's degree in History/Social Sciences from Illinois State University, an Associate's degree in Computer Information Systems from Illinois Central College, and a Special Education Endorsement from Eureka College. Throughout my career, I have held various teaching positions and have taught a wide range of subjects to students in grades 6-12. I have expertise in case management and am skilled in the creation and maintenance of IEPs and BIPs. In addition to my teaching experience, I have over 20 years of experience in Computer Information Systems and have received additional training and certification in the Summit Online Learning Platform, Why Try Facilitation, and RTI coordination. I am licensed to teach in the state of Illinois and am endorsed in Social Science and Learning Behavior Specialist for grades 6-12. In my current role as a Special Education Teacher at Menta Midway (Vocovision), I am responsible for teaching History/Social Studies & ELA, consulting with administration on special education issues, staffing, and technology. I am also training staff in resources for remote teaching and learning. I am dedicated to ensuring that all of my students receive a high-quality education and am always looking for ways to improve my teaching practice.
