About Steven Hislop

I’m currently a Regional Operations Director for Royal Mail. I’m responsible for an operations team that plans and delivers circa 16m letters and parcels a week and doing that through and with a team of people. My responsibility is across the pipeline and my objective is to deliver our service agreement in a safe and legal way. I’ve joined the business at the start of a transformation journey and supporting and leading the team through this is an exciting challenge. I was previously a Senior Director for Asda responsible for multi sites across Lancashire and the Lakes. Having started as a colleague I was with Asda for 23 and a half years and managing the pace of change is what gets me up in the morning. Never a dull day in retail but I really enjoy the challenge it provided. I’ve been a regional availability manager, general store manager, area manager for Asda Living before I became a Senior Director in the North West and now specifically Lancashire and Lakes. The experience of working in Scotland, NI, Wales and now England has been very beneficial to my career and the experience gained. I’m a big believer in a few things - never stop learning, always raise the bar and commit time to help people grow (it’s the best part of the job!)
