About Steven Korum

Working as both an end user (client) and a contractor has given Steve a unique prospective on control systems. It has given him the awareness of issues and challenges a client faces in maintaining and upgrading the systems contractors and programmers have provided them. With an extensive amount of start‐up and commissioning experience over his years in the industry, Steve knows what works and has the confidence to make quick decisions. Through his work experience and education Steve has worked on various control platforms including Honeywell, Delta‐V, Rockwell, Modicon, Foxboro, and GE MarkV. He also has extensive experience in designing and maintaining DeviceNet and Modbus Networks. On the PLC front Steve has extensive experience with PLC redundancy, having designed, installed and upgraded redundant Rockwell PLC’s at a major oilsands plant. From his electrical background Steve has gained extensive knowledge of electrical controls and VFD’s. On the instrumentation side, he has gathered experience with the installation and maintenance of DeltaV control system and associated Foundation Fieldbus architecture. As a network administrator, he has been involved in designing and maintaining control system networks at the IT level. As a leader Steve has led both electrical and mechanical maintenance teams in challenging manufacturing environments. Steve’s experience in the projects listed below, would make him an asset to any project team.
